One way to prevent soil is by gardening. You have to grow plants are indigenous to your area. Another thing to do is plant trees and shrubs which can provide shelter for soil. The roots will help to prevent excess water from washing it away. The second thing is to keep soil moist but you cant drown it. But over-watering can not only wash away soil, but cause it to degrade. The third thing you can do is plant vegetation that will assist in the protection of the soil, like rye or clover. They will protect by thickly covering the ground and they will restrict weed growth and reduce runoff.

describe 3 abiotic factors that could affect biotic potential (population growth) and how they would affect it
One factor is diseases that are spread by people. For example a sexuallt transmitted disease can prevent reproduction because organisms with these diseases may not be able to reproduce at a healthy rate and death may come from these matters. Another form of this is predation. Predators have to get their share of food and by doing this, they kill other animals and ruin habitats in the process. Obviously this can happen with humans as it happens to animals. The last reason can be natural destruction. Human nature is very random which means you never see it coming. You never know when a hurricane or an earthquake might hit and destroy many habitats. Which can cause many species to instinct.
describe why sampling is important to the study of populations
Studying is very important because we want to know what the population of everything is. We need it because for humans its important to know how many people live in a country because of the benefits the people need to have. They also need to know how many representatives are needed for each state. In order to help many people the U.S. needs to know how many people there are because some people aren't able to get the opportunity they need because they weren't counted as part of a population.

Which biome would you most like to visit? Why?
The place i would like to visit would be the savanna tropical grasslands because they are in areas of low rainfall with long dry periods. It is also scattered with clumps of trees like acacia and wide expanses of grasslands. It is fire adapted and that is also a key to why i like it. For me it seems like a nice relaxing place to spend time at and i enjoy being in nature. O f course there are many dangerous animals out there. So you have to be careful when you go visit one of these places but its very relaxing and this is why i would like to visit it one day.
Should re-wilding species be keystone species? How could re-wilding be made successful?
I think it should be the keystone species because they seem to be the important ones. They seem to have more of a better chance of making it through life and are important because many animals are in the point of getting extinct which is a big problem. I believe it is important to save everyone but yet only the strong will make it. This method is called "survival of the fittest" because of course people and animals are fighting to stay alive.
What surprised you most about the waste we create over a lifetime?
I am surprised on how much waste we create over a lifetime. I didn't think it would be a lot but it all adds up so its very difficult to get rid of. Many people don't understand how important this is because our planet is being effected by this. It's a mess in the land fields and people aren't sure how to get rid of it. It is disgusting to know that it is just sitting there. Many people aren't doing anything about this and we should do something about it.
What can diet tell us about the organisms that are eating? Give three examples
A healthy live style is very important for eveyone. Of course dieting is what many people are trying to do and it seems very difficult to do.There are many bacteria in our stomaches and many are good but others are bad and diets can help us have only good bacteria. Dieting is very difficult for many people and some thimgs that are being eaten aren't healthy.
Would you consider to become a vegeterian or a vegan? Why or Why not?
I sometimes would like to be a vegetarian because i think about how the food i am eating was once a real living animal. I sometimes get disgusted because i think about how they treat does poor animals and how much they suffer until they no longer are alive. It's sad to think that thses animals don't have a say in this situation. Then its very hard to give up meat all of a sudden and then you know its just hard to give up something that you know is bad to eat. Then that illusion i have to become a vegeterian fades away and i end up eating meat again.
Define and give examples of order, randomness and complexity
First of all order is a command given by a superior that must be obeyed. An example of this is when at work someone has told you to do something for them its a order because that person is superior than you. Randomness is a concept with somewhat disparate meanings in several fields. It also has common meanings which may have loose connections with some of those more definite meanings. Complexity tends to be used to characterize something with many parts in intricate arrangement.
Based on chapter 1 where do you think humans are having the most impact? why?
GREENHOUSE EFFECT i believe is the the biggest impact. It often gets a bad rap because of its association with global warming, but the reality is we couldn't live without it. Life on earth depends on energy from the sun. There is about 30% of sunlight that beams toward earth is deflected by the outer atmosphere and scattered back in to space. But the rest reaches the planet's surface and is reflected upward again as a type of slow-moving energy called infrared radiation. Problems begin when human activities distort and accelerate the natural process by creating more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere then are necessary to warm our planet to a likely temperature.

what is environmental science?
environmental science
Environmental Science is a interdisciplinary field that involves both the physical sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology, geology, geography and the social sciences such as resource management and conservation, demography, economics. Related areas of study include environmental studies and environmental engineering. Environmental studies incorporate more of the social sciences for understanding human relationships, perceptions and policies towards the environment. Environmental Engineering focuses on design and technology for improving environmental quality.

which environmentalist do you feel made the greatest contribution to the environmental science today? Why?
The environmentalist i think is the greatest is Franklin Delano Roosevelt because he established the WPA, CCC, and TVA which employed men to plant trees, build roads and paths in the national parks and control flooding. This helped many families who were struggling to raise children without a job.I think he is the greatest because he succeeded in what his goals were for the people and for the environment.
